Over the next quarter Open Brolly will be upgrading its MovieSite screen agency and film office software to version 2.
There are a number of new features, agreed with our user community, and behind-the-scenes improvements which will make MovieSite even more flexible and adaptable to meet data collection, marketing and reporting requirements.
Rather than roll out the new version on a “take it or leave it” basis, we’re adopting a collaborative approach with our clients. We will have regular, smaller releases of the new functionality which will enable our clients to try out, test and provide feedback on our offerings.
Some functionality is already available, such as the ability to hide and show individual images for public use.
The latest new feature is the much requested Production Guide Web Brochures – our user group’s number one priority! This emulates the location brochure functionality, enabling brochures of crew and facilities to be created and electronically sent to users. It’s available right now for all our existing clients by going to the “list” function of the Production Guide in MovieSite. Once version 2 is launched, the brochures will be customisable, as they are in Locations.
We’re also testing the enhanced ability to link a record with any other on the system – for example a location with unit bases or with projects that have used it in the past. This is a closed test with one MovieSite client at the moment – we will open up the functionality for all clients to test soon.
Please contact David Sim (david.sim@openbrolly.com) if you have any queries about this technology or MovieSite itself. We welcome all feedback!
